End of 2009

Well, it had to come sometime. Although I feel like it came pretty darn quickly!! I'm not really going to do a whole end of the year wrap-up, although that would probably be quite interesting. But this past year has been many changes, including a change of coasts.

I'm quite excited for the new year. I think 2010 will be fantastic! It's like reinventing myself and my life. I'm very open to any and all performing possibilities and am excited to see where the roads take me. I'm even moving to a new apartment (currently searching if anyone has any suggestions, lol), so 2010 will definitely be a brand new start!

Christmas was fantastic! I'll put up some pics here later and they will be up on facebook and stuff as well. I love my family, they're just plain awesome! It's so great to be with them, and a bit sad to leave. But, my life currently is in Los Angeles, so that's where I had to get back to.

Wishing everyone a great last day of 2009 and much peace, health, and prosperity in 2010!

Christmas Time (Almost) in LaLa Land

Well, well, well...didn't that just come all too quickly. I'm finding it a bit strange being here in LA during the holidays. It doesn't feel like Chrismas. I mean, think about it...it's warm (except last week), sunny, there are palm trees, not many people decorate with lights and stuff...I don't know.

But I've found a few exceptions, so here they are:
  • The Grove (with fake snow and everything).
  • The Beverly Center...I was trying to find a present, when all of a sudden what happens...the "Hunky Santa" show. It's an arial gymastic show with the center being the 'Hunky Santa' (basically a dude withe unbelievable abs), and his elves (girls who do tons of gymnastic stuff). It was very cirque du soleil-ish, but fun.
  • Melrose has a bow on the Gucci Store I'm told.
  • Beverly Hills there are some lights.
  • I wear a scarf (also for fashion)
  • Starbuck's plays Christmas music and is forever in the holiday spirit.
  • Christmas music on the radio...some stations.
  • Santa Monica ice rink. Ice skating to Christmas songs always makes you feel good!
  • People do wish me a happy holidays, so that says something.

That's pretty much it of what I've found. It'll take me quite a while to get used to some lights around some palm trees signifying it's Christmas. I'll just have to spend way more time in Starbucks I guess.

Let's see...lately I've gone surfing a few times...mostly I still suck, but I'm happy the new full wetsuit I found on craigslist from an awesome guy getting rid of it for super cheap keeps me quite warm so I can attempt to rock it out all year round. I probably need some coaching or a friend to give some pointers or something. Also auditioning when I can get them, going to the gym, tying to meet up with and make friends (which has worked out much better of late), a little sickness (colds) here and there, and looking for work. That pretty much sums up my life lately.

I'm really looking forward to the new year coming up. 2009 has been an interesting one, and I lable the big theme as transition. I probably still need some time to sit and think about all that has happened to me in the last year and let it really sink in. So now I think reinventing my life and pushing forward will be my next challenge. But I am ready to rock 2010! Look out LA...Hollywood...NYC...World...bacause here I come!!

But first a break in Seattle to spend Christmas with my family!

December?!

Yikes!! December already?! That just went so frick'n fast I can't even believe it. It seems like I just got here and already it's almost Christmas and the new year. Well, things seem a bit slow here lately, but I've had a few good auditions recently. Mostly just been trying to keep my spirit up and keep improving myself as a person and in my career, as well as find a "support-me job." That last part is very important right now. I'm really looking forward to the "what's next" part of life. Like what sort of projects and experiences I will happen to stumble into (and by stumble I mean work super hard to get).

I don't really care what people think, but I've now seen "Twilight: New Moon." I really enjoyed it. I really love the book series, so of course I'll like the movies. So much fun. And now I'm being a Twilight geek and reading the series over again. Don't judge me...haha.

Thanksgiving was in the Palisades at my friend's parents house. Nice to be around good people. I started thinking of it, and out of the last 8 years, I've only been home once for Thanksgiving. Strange to think about that. It seems that since moving away from home that certain holidays I just have been used to now being a "holiday orphan." Which us usaully actually pretty fun and always different each year with who I end up spending it with or what I actually do on each holiday.

But Christmas will be in Shoreline, WA. Yea!! My family rocks and it'll be fun to be back!

I'm making a promise that I'll update more frequently on my blog. What's the point of having it if I don't write in it often. So that will happen (crossing fingers). And for those who don't read it too much, I always like to remind people that:

I'm very carefull with what I write on here. I don't generally use names, never will talk bad about anyone specific or any situation or events (auditions and work included). That's just not professional and not what I'm about. I have a pretty sarcastic humor, so don't take things too seriously, and enjoy some of the experiences and things I blog about.

Have a great holiday season (it does not even feel like Christmas at all here in LA...oh, except for the Grove...they have it all "Santa'd-up," and even fake snow...it's super fun!)

Well, Well, Well

Wow time sure does fly, and can easily pass you by if you're not watching out. It happens. Still plugging away here in LA. It's a trying time constantly looking for employment, but such is the life I've chosen.

I have to say, that lately in my dance classes, for whatever reason I'm better than ever. How does that even work? I mean, I definitely took some time off when moving and stuff, but I'm definitely stronger. Maybe it just has to do with the fact that now that I'm here in LA I've been really cross-training and striving to be very active.

I found these crazy stairs that lead to a beautiful overlook in Baldwin Hills, where you can see like all of LA. It's beautiful! Mostly I go for the workout. I didn't count the actual stairs, but they aren't like stadium stairs, they are cement slabs in the hill that are sometimes spaced so far apart or their heights are different, that it's like lunging up the steep hill. First time I did it I made it up twice and could barely walk the next three or four days. Now I made it up four times. It's a killer, but I love it!

Yeah, so I now know that I pretty much suck at surfing. I need some help with this one. I really want to be a good surfer, because it's fun and nice to be out in the water and the beach and all that. But I'm not doing so well popping up. It's a good workout thought, and fun! So, unless I find someone that wants to help me, I'm just going to have to keep on going, and going, and going on my own until I figure it out, haha. I have read up on how to surf and watched videos, but it's not the same as when you're actually out there, of course.

It's still tripp'n me out that it's so warm and sunny here and it's fall. It's like I'm in another world. All I hear from friends on facebook or whatever is the cold fall, or the rain, or pictures of snow in the mountains. Crazy!

Things to do...find some work to support myself, go golfing, stand up fully on my surf board, and get my career roll'n!

LA Living

So, lots and lots to talk about. Clearly I need to get on board on writing more often here.

Okay, let's see.

New headshots that I think are super cool. Also, the website is currently being reworked so that my new shots are on it, new contact info, agency and manager stuff, etc. Plus, hopefully I'll be able to get some clips of my dancing up.

LA is fun so far. I'm finding it a bit difficult meeting people, but I'm working on that. Taking dance classes, going to the gym, trying to get to the beach when I can. I've started surfing. Right now I pretty much suck, but it's great to be out on the water. If only I could meed someone who has a boat for some waterskiing...that's where I feel a bit more at home when on the water.

I feel that I need to get hooking into the Hollywood scene. Clearly I mean work-wise, but more importantly, the social scene. Oh, and I'm really wanting to go to a house party out in Malibu. That's just one thing I feel I need to do.

Lots of pretty people here, which is super fun. Plus, my roommate and I were driving into Culver City a couple weeks ago on a nice hot day, and we passed a house with a yard full of leaves. I just looked over at him and said "So, I guess it's fall then.." Yeah, I barely even notice the change of season, which is an interesting change. Not complaining, bacause the sun is great!

Well, that gives you a small and brief glimpse at what's been going on. I'll try and write more so you can get a better idea about my life here in Los Angeles.

Ready for Action

So, got back recently from a trip to Wyoming with my family. Super fun, filled with hiking, fishing, cooking, Yellowstone, and much craziness. I love my family to death!

Now back in Los Angeles, ready for action. My headshots are all printed up and ready to rock and roll, and I'm working hard on getting myself out there. Hoping for good stuff. The new pictures will be up soon on the website as soon as I can.

Big Changes

So, there have beena lot of changes here since moving to Los Angeles. Yup, I'm even more awesome than I was when I lived elsewhere. Okay, well maybe not. But, I'm working with the LA office of my agency I had in NYC, DDO Artists Agency, with their dance department, which is way cool. Also, signed on with Mireille Wilson from Midwest Talent Management as my manager. She rocks! That's really all that can be said of her so far. So onward and upward, if that's the correct phrase.

Secondly (or whatever point I'm at), I got some new headshots and pictures, that are being reviewed by my people and will be ready this coming week to be shown to the world. Be prepared for ultra hotness in a very castable way...haha. But really, Michael Higgins is a great photographer, and I'm really happy with my shots.

I'm really ready to get out and do some surfing and playing on the beach. I also found that I need to explore the trails in Grifith Park. I was there the other day to check out the observatory, and it's really nice there. And a real pretty view of LA. I'm also eager to get working here (like career work), and to be working (like I need money type of working). Although I may be in Wyoming with my family not this coming week but the week after. Yup, enjoying my life in LA so much that I need a break, apparently. Actually, if it works out it will be a really nice time with the entire family for a change, which would be very welcome. More on that soon.

I'll be fixing my website (actually, I personally won't, but the designer will be) and making changes the rest of this month, so bare with me. Contact info, pictures, etc., will be changed and what not. Hope you like it!
