End of 2009

Well, it had to come sometime. Although I feel like it came pretty darn quickly!! I'm not really going to do a whole end of the year wrap-up, although that would probably be quite interesting. But this past year has been many changes, including a change of coasts.

I'm quite excited for the new year. I think 2010 will be fantastic! It's like reinventing myself and my life. I'm very open to any and all performing possibilities and am excited to see where the roads take me. I'm even moving to a new apartment (currently searching if anyone has any suggestions, lol), so 2010 will definitely be a brand new start!

Christmas was fantastic! I'll put up some pics here later and they will be up on facebook and stuff as well. I love my family, they're just plain awesome! It's so great to be with them, and a bit sad to leave. But, my life currently is in Los Angeles, so that's where I had to get back to.

Wishing everyone a great last day of 2009 and much peace, health, and prosperity in 2010!

Christmas Time (Almost) in LaLa Land

Well, well, well...didn't that just come all too quickly. I'm finding it a bit strange being here in LA during the holidays. It doesn't feel like Chrismas. I mean, think about it...it's warm (except last week), sunny, there are palm trees, not many people decorate with lights and stuff...I don't know.

But I've found a few exceptions, so here they are:
  • The Grove (with fake snow and everything).
  • The Beverly Center...I was trying to find a present, when all of a sudden what happens...the "Hunky Santa" show. It's an arial gymastic show with the center being the 'Hunky Santa' (basically a dude withe unbelievable abs), and his elves (girls who do tons of gymnastic stuff). It was very cirque du soleil-ish, but fun.
  • Melrose has a bow on the Gucci Store I'm told.
  • Beverly Hills there are some lights.
  • I wear a scarf (also for fashion)
  • Starbuck's plays Christmas music and is forever in the holiday spirit.
  • Christmas music on the radio...some stations.
  • Santa Monica ice rink. Ice skating to Christmas songs always makes you feel good!
  • People do wish me a happy holidays, so that says something.

That's pretty much it of what I've found. It'll take me quite a while to get used to some lights around some palm trees signifying it's Christmas. I'll just have to spend way more time in Starbucks I guess.

Let's see...lately I've gone surfing a few times...mostly I still suck, but I'm happy the new full wetsuit I found on craigslist from an awesome guy getting rid of it for super cheap keeps me quite warm so I can attempt to rock it out all year round. I probably need some coaching or a friend to give some pointers or something. Also auditioning when I can get them, going to the gym, tying to meet up with and make friends (which has worked out much better of late), a little sickness (colds) here and there, and looking for work. That pretty much sums up my life lately.

I'm really looking forward to the new year coming up. 2009 has been an interesting one, and I lable the big theme as transition. I probably still need some time to sit and think about all that has happened to me in the last year and let it really sink in. So now I think reinventing my life and pushing forward will be my next challenge. But I am ready to rock 2010! Look out LA...Hollywood...NYC...World...bacause here I come!!

But first a break in Seattle to spend Christmas with my family!

December?!

Yikes!! December already?! That just went so frick'n fast I can't even believe it. It seems like I just got here and already it's almost Christmas and the new year. Well, things seem a bit slow here lately, but I've had a few good auditions recently. Mostly just been trying to keep my spirit up and keep improving myself as a person and in my career, as well as find a "support-me job." That last part is very important right now. I'm really looking forward to the "what's next" part of life. Like what sort of projects and experiences I will happen to stumble into (and by stumble I mean work super hard to get).

I don't really care what people think, but I've now seen "Twilight: New Moon." I really enjoyed it. I really love the book series, so of course I'll like the movies. So much fun. And now I'm being a Twilight geek and reading the series over again. Don't judge me...haha.

Thanksgiving was in the Palisades at my friend's parents house. Nice to be around good people. I started thinking of it, and out of the last 8 years, I've only been home once for Thanksgiving. Strange to think about that. It seems that since moving away from home that certain holidays I just have been used to now being a "holiday orphan." Which us usaully actually pretty fun and always different each year with who I end up spending it with or what I actually do on each holiday.

But Christmas will be in Shoreline, WA. Yea!! My family rocks and it'll be fun to be back!

I'm making a promise that I'll update more frequently on my blog. What's the point of having it if I don't write in it often. So that will happen (crossing fingers). And for those who don't read it too much, I always like to remind people that:

I'm very carefull with what I write on here. I don't generally use names, never will talk bad about anyone specific or any situation or events (auditions and work included). That's just not professional and not what I'm about. I have a pretty sarcastic humor, so don't take things too seriously, and enjoy some of the experiences and things I blog about.

Have a great holiday season (it does not even feel like Christmas at all here in LA...oh, except for the Grove...they have it all "Santa'd-up," and even fake snow...it's super fun!)
