Wish I could say that I was in something in the festival, but I had the chance to see a really great film yesterday. Departures, a Japanese film that won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It was truly a beautiful film. Please go see it when it gets a wider release outside of festivals.
Plus we got the chance to have a Q&A with the director and lead actor, which was a lot of fun. Very interesting to hear their thoughts and views on their work. Yeah for fun afternoons breaking up the whole getting my life together thing...lol.

Jekyll/Hyde...Washington
Big success back west for yours truly. I had the chance to go back to my college, Whitman College, in Walla Walla, WA for a couple weeks. And yes, you may make fun of the name Walla Walla, but as you laugh or snicker, I would like you to think of the native americans who we probably killed off with disease or something and now have a wealthy college, Wallmart, and a Starbucks in place of their land. Yeah, not laughing now, are we. Well, Walla Walla still sounds funny, so whatevs.
I went back and dance in a contemporary dance piece of the story of Jekyll and Hyde, playing Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. Great piece, the two students who choreographed it did a fantastic job, as did all the dancers, and it was a blast. Hopefully will get some pictures in the near future to show my fantasticness, haha. And I got the chance to teach a bunch of dance classes which was a great opportunity for me to get some experience teaching. Plus, being in a smaller and quieter town is so refreshing.
Then back to Seattle to visit with the family and a few friends I could squeeze in, play a round of golf (I can still barely hold my own, but was decent for not playing in a year or so), and also got to see my sister sing her junior vocal recital at Pacific Lutheran University. She was amazing, and I'm so proud of her. It would have made me tear up if I was a cryer, but I'm not, so only tears in my mind and thoughts. But really...amazing, she has a great future ahead of her.
Now I'm back in the city ready for whatever is next. Not exactly sure what that is, but that's the adventure. Just like waiting in line to see a Japanese film showing at the Tribeca Film Festival. I say adventure, because we were turned away when there was no room in the theatre. Guess you have to be there like an hour early. It's showing tomorrow, so new plan...get there early, and actually see what you were waiting in line for...I know...I just blew your mind with that little bit of philosophy I threw in there. You will both be entertained, hear what I'm up to, catch glimpses of genious philosophical thinking, and enjoy my idiotic humor. G'night!

Back at it!
Yeah, the title says it. I'm back at the blogging thing. Hopefully (fingers crossed several times...hopefully without breaking them...) I can keep it up. I have faith though, and so should you. Lots to talk about. I'm back not only writing on my blog, but back from Seattle (well, Shoreline to be specific, but who on the East Coast knows where that is...) and Walla Walla, and now in New York until I figure out what I'm going to do June 1st (the date I leave my apartment - if you can call it that - which I have inhabited for almost 6 years).
This is a pre-posting telling you there will be more postings. I will go in to greater depth on my journey West soon. Until then, be satisfied (or, more importantly, wanting more...) that I'm back ready to rock and roll.

Whitman Bound
I will be heading West this Saturday! Yeah, a little escape from the city. Okay, so I will be at my old college, Whitman College, from April 5th until th 19th. I'm teaching a few dance master classes, and dancing in the Whitman Dance production of "Jekyl/Hyde" on the 17th and 18th at Cordiner Hall. Go see it if you're in the area.
Then, I'll be back in Shoreline, WA until April 26th.
