Merry DiMaggio...

A pre-Christmas Eve well-wishing is in order. So, without further adew...I wish you all a wonderful day before Christmas Eve.

Nice. So, my show "DiMaggio" closed last night. A very good audience, a wonderful cast party lasting into the wee hours in the morning, and now it's almost the Holidays. So, a day full of ballet, the gym, a little packing, and some recovery.

This next week is going to be some good rest for my body (hence the term "recovery"), which sort-of hates me at the moment. We are not on great terms with each other. A couple back muscular issues, and a hard fall I took yesterday morning on my hip and chest has left me in a bit (by "bit" I mean a very large amount) of pain to finish up our closing show and to welcom me into Christmas. Fun!

Not to fret, I will be all better upon my return to New York in January ready to kick some ass at auditions and generally be damn awesome at life. Be ready 2008, for you are about to be rocked like a baby in a cradle just after being breast fed tequilla!

Look'n good in uniform!

Working on a photo shoot for ESPN the other day, made me kind-of wish I had the chance to play lacrosse. Let me explain. The photo shoot was for a lacrosse ad of some sort, not really sure when it will come out, but I represented the Princeton team. They dressed us in full uniform, pads, helmet, and all. Pretty cool! Since I never really played football (except intermurals at college with my fraternity), I never really have been in full padding for any sports. The most contact I ever participated in was soccer, which can be pretty brutal, but is without pads (although I think that's even more badass). Putting on the shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves, and helmet just makes you feel awesome.

I think lacrosse is a great game, from what I've seen both at college and a few times on television. I would have enjoyed it. You can get pretty darn beat up, however. Since I was (and am, of course) a dancer and actor in college, there were certain sports I couldn't really justify doing. An injury and/or bruises, etc., would really be frowned upon and limit the opportunities in my field. Plus, I wasn't super physically developed (or at least worked on it in the gym and such) until after college really, when I started dancing professionally, and focus on strength and the look of my body became something I really had (and wanted) to do. Now, being stronger and more confident, I think I could really kick some ass. Probably a bit late to get involved with some things, such as lacrosse. And, it would be really irresponsible of me to put my career in jeapordy by doing such high impact sports.

So, what I took from this experience, and what you should take from this story is that I am a badass, and look frick'n sweet in lacrosse gear. Man I'm awesome!

Pricey Winter Day

As we slowly end the run of "DiMaggio" (eight performances left), I came to the realization that I have very little time before Christmas! Luckily (or not, depending on how you look at things) I'm fairly broke. So, my Christmas shopping will be light this year. My family knows that, and I'm blessed that they are supportive and understanding that my career choice is not necessarily the most lucrative.

Anyhow, I was in Paragon Sports the other day after an audition, trying to warm myself up from the grossness that we were dealing with weatherwise yesterday, with a Starbuck's and some outdoor gear browsing. I could use a couple new winter coats, since mine are dying. Also wanted to check out the skis (oh how I miss it so). Paragon is like a horrible tease for me, since I want so much, but can't afford to buy it all. I found a few nice things (just a few?), however, it seemed evertime I looked at the price tag, they would be ranging from about $600-$900. What the...? That's more than my rent (some things almost twice as much)! Well, I'll have to do some thinking on what's necessary, then go to a different store probably, maybe one that has stuff on sale...or to a thrift store of some sort...or steal stuff.

Oh, and to people I know here in New York who haven't seen my show...you suck (unless you were already planning on coming this week, then you don't suck so much since I didn't know that, but to those who are in the city and are not really thinking of coming...you do suck. Come and support me! You have 8 shows left. It's an entertaining night (I mean, whether or not you like the show itself, or musicals in general, it is fun, and I rock as always, so you can see my hotness on stage all night) and cheap theatre. Plus, you'll be supporting my career and we can get a drink afterwords. Bonus drink if you're hot, single, and...well, hot.

Show Break...

Alright, a couple days off from "DiMaggio," what to do... Well, lots! I won't bore you with my daily routine, but I must interject here that my cinnamon almond candle I have lit right now is really setting a great mood... and smell. Oh yeah, if I had a girl over, things could happen. Sadly, will just be going to bed.

Being a freelance artist, performing six shows a week for multiple weeks, really makes you start to appreciate your time off. Just a little rest and recover. And of course, classes, the gym, auditions, etc. It's not really a day off, I guess.

One quick point of interest, mostly to myself, but some may enjoy it. My new mattress is fantastic. I am sleeping so well now. Although my down comforter is doing an odd bunching thing under it's cover. Apparently that is called a duvet cover. I thought a duvet was a small couch. Big surprise, I was wrong.

I also have found the most painful yoga exercise ever. It takes a while to explain (or I just don't feel like describing it right now), but let us just say that after four days, my quads have still not completely recovered. Stupid yoga... making me stronger... and hurting me... but in a good way... okay, no more dot, dot, dots... Goodnight.

Spin Magazine

The second week of DiMaggio at the Wings Theatre has started, so back in performance mode. I love perfoming! It's what I live for. I hope we get some nice crowds coming. We perform Thursday through Monday with two show on Sunday this week (and next week).

Okay, so it's official, I went out and purchased a Spin Magazine. I'm definately featured in pages 103-106. Because of my last name I was asked to give my opinion on a bunch of products Spin was checking out in their magazine. The interview was back in November, and I sort-of forgot about it until my cousin back in Seattle was reading the magazine at the gym and saw me. So, that news quickly passed on to my grandparents to my parents and eventually me. There's a small picture of me looking semi-crazy, as well as a number of quotes with my opinions on stuff. Check it out if you can, it's entertaining. Plus, it's fairly uncensored thoughts I had on the products, which is always interesting if you know me.

Welcome December!

Welcome to my new blog!

Well, December is bringing a number of changes and happenings. First off, the musical I'm in, DiMaggio: The Man Behind the Myth, just had it's official opening, and this week starts our second week of shows. Please come if you are in or near Manhattan. Info can be found on the news section of my website.

As you can tell, this is the blog attached to my new website. I've transfered all the entries from my other blog (lampboy.net), and now this where all the writing magic happens. I hope you like the new site, and continue to follow my career and blogging.

I'm excited to get back to my writing again. So not to worry, my strange musings and thoughts will once again be available to all.

One last thing, I haven't yet seen it, but I'm pictured (a small headshot thing I think) and quoted in Spin Magazine, the December issue. You should check it out. I can't tell you exactly how cool I am in it, since I have not seen it, but just assume I'm pretty awesome (which, by the way, should always be the assumption, in anything I do).

Welcome to December people, let's get this party started!
