I said I'd say a few words about rodeos. First off, I went to one. The Fort Worth Rodeo at the Stockyards. Secondly, they are awesome. How could you not enjoy man vs. beast! I like horses, and seeing what those riders can do was pretty cool. Also worth mentioning, is that they started out with everyone standing for "Proud to be an American" blasting while a girl on a horse with an American flag rides around the stadium getting faster and faster as the music builds. Very funny (and oddly inspiring). Then bullriding, roping the calves, etc., etc. They even had all the young kids (like 10 and under) come out (this part is a little bizare) and try to chase down a calf and get a flag from it's tail. Dangerous?...I think so. My kid (ficticious of course) will probably not be doing that. I say that now, but when the time comes I'll probably say "go ahead" and my wife will then slap me across my face. This is coming from a guy who would like to try bullriding once. I think it's pretty badass, and although I know it would be a horrible idea, still sort-of want to try.
Happy belated St. Patrick's Day. Not a holiday I usually do much for. Actually, didn't realize it was coming until it was here. There is no Irish blood in me, so not such a big deal. I do enjoy a Guiness, however. It's just a night full of tons of out of control drunks. Not that there's really anything wrong with that if I'm in the mood to go out, but not so much this year. Next up...Easter. Fun fact about Easter this year. It's also my birthday. This will be the only time this happens in my lifetime (unless I live till the year 2160...not likely...but we shall see), so while you're at your Easter service, think of me and maybe even say a little prayer sending your good thoughts on this day. Or while hunting Easter eggs, maybe the Easter Bunny should hide an egg with a miniature chocolate statue of me in it, or maybe he should just put my phone number in a hidden egg for a few of you good looking single gals out there who still enjoy beeing goofy and hunting eggs.
...Thoughts for the Easter Bunny.
