Metaphorical and poetic thoughts for the day

There comes a time in the course of one's life when you need to replace the old and worn out with the new and better. It's like your favorite pair of running shoes. Eventually they'll need replacing. Although you've ran many miles with them, biked with them around the city, used them while in the gym, and even worn them to walk to the store, they can only do so much for so long. There are little warning signs in life, like when you've already ductaped the inside and outside of the heels of your running shoes so the structural plasic that you've exposed stops rubbing on the skin of your heel or the fact that they once were white and now they are completely grey. These warning signs tell us that we must replace the old with the new. A new running shoe as it were, would give you the support and cushioning that you've lost from the old, even though you still love the old.

Honestly, there is no metaphore here. I simply need new running shoes, but have not given in and gotten them yet. Hence the ductape to prolong their life.

Here is a poem I wrote just now:

Roses can be blue,
Tulips are not always yellow.
My running shoes are not new,
Boy do I like jello.
I am sweet like honey,
Sexy like a bunny.
I certainly wish it were sunny,
Red roses would come anew.

I hope you enjoyed that, it's a Lampboy original. Go eat a banana and some fruit and be merry!
