I like to help people, and that is why I am going to give you this little thought. In case you ever thought, "it might be really fun to get up at 4am to start my day," I can only say it is not as exciting as you might think. Whether or not you find it easy to wake yourself up, which from personal experience I find it is not the easiest thing in the world but at the same time if you have somewhere you have to be then your mind just makes your body wake up, 4am takes it's toll on you. Now, by early afternoon you will be exhausted and instead of only neading a second wind, you will need approximately 5 of them to get you through the day.
There are a few bonuses once you get out of your house or apartement at this hour. There are not too many people around, and it is very pleasant in this calmness. Also, you will get to see the sunrise which let's be honest here, how often do you get that chance. That's really about it.
Why am I even going into this detail you ask? I don't know, most people probably can already figure out that 4am sucks. However, yesterday I woke up at this ungodly hour to work on an ad campaign for Bank of America. I can't probably legally say here what we were advertising, even though it was a one-day campaign, but you could check them out online if you wished so. Here is where the fun begins, though. I was not merely handing out fliers and such, I was actually wearing a media suit. Oh yes my friends, I was wearing a thick red vest with a computer screen on the front, a red shirt, red hat, khaki pants, tennis shoes, a belt with a small hand-held computer touch pad and on the other side of the belt a computer atachment, and a little pouch in front of my crotch which had postcards and little give-a-ways like candy, stress balls, clip lights, etc. with the Bank of America logo. My friends I tell you this, I was a walking advertisement complete with a media presentation when I talked to people where a voice explained stuff through the speakers on my vest.
We toured around on a bus with a band on it going to 4 or 5 locations, getting out and talking to people, showing the presentations on our chest screens, and giving things away (not everyone was wearing the suit, some were just giving things away). I have only a single picture on my phone, and maybe it would be more fun to simply imagine.
Well, that was my day yesterday. Actually a lot of fun, although honestly it took me a little while to get used to trying to talk with people on their way to work and such as when I'm walking down the street I always ignore these people and don't take fliers and such. Not a bad way to make a little money and the other people involved were qute a lot of fun!
One other suggestion not related to any of this, for those of you who take yoga, and I suggest taking it very much as I love it, do not, and I must stress that this is not a fun idea, do not eat a large burrito 20 minutes before yoga class. There is no grand disaster here to mention, but I will just say it was not a comfortable class in any way shape of form. So, a word of caution again, do not partake in what I will now call burrito yoga.
