Ballet Roots

For your entertainment and my embarassment, I will show you my ballet roots. They are not too deep, and yes I did start in college (also not too long ago). To explain my dance history, I started with beginning ballet sophomore year, took a 5-week summer workshop, left for a year to study acting in London, then came back and took advanced ballet my senior year. Post-graduation I went to Italy for 5-weeks to dance, took a 2-week workshop and moved to New York where I have performed with a few modern dance companies and trained mostly as a dancer but more recently have also been persuing my acting and working in film and television. Whew! That was probably more than you needed or wanted to know.

Okay, now for the part that probably needs explanation. Yes, there were only three men in the beginning class, I was the only one to take it seriously. We all wanted to wear tutus like the girls. Yes, I was one of the three instigators or this. Yes I also had a large part in getting our teacher to let us. And finally, yes I am straight, contrary to what the picture might have you believe. Also, we found out that in the box of cosume stuff there were shiny bowties and tiaras. I mean, how cool is that! I am sporting one of my pairs of Bahamas shorts and a wife-beater as well. My technique is impeccable if you look closely at the picture (but I'd prefer you don't) and that my friends is the start of my dance career (Don't worry, I'm a little better now...no Baryshnikov or anything...but better).

p.s. if you do glance at the other pictures in the same album, I will elaborate on the circumstances behind some of them...
