Wow it has been rainy this past week and a half! Not so much fun. That, and I can't seem to stop wearing my flip flops which is only a mistake when you step in a gigantic puddle, quickly then say a swear word, and move on because in the end it was I who chose to wear them in the rain.
Oh, the best place to go when it's a bit cold and rainy out is the Chocolate Bar! I went the other night to catch up with an old friend, and have to say their hot chocolate is amazing! They're also close to Magnolia Bakery, which if you don't know...I just feel sorry for you...for everyone should try their super oustanding cupcakes. Anyone who has not tried them (or who just wants another one) I will personally escort you there.
Just make sure it is not a performance weekend like this weekend for me, since cupcakes and hot chocolate are generally in the opposite direction of getting myself looking ripped for the stage. On that note, anyone in New York City or the surrounding areas are invited to my dance show. Check out my events page for the info. Should be pretty wicked. In the least, I will rock your world as only I can. My dancing skill will amaze and astound you (or maybe they won't, but I'm a good performer and you will be moved by me (hopefully not moved as in "I'm ready to leave")...I repeat, movement will happen).
This performance is like the beginning of summer for me. Once it's over I'm actually pretty unemployed for a while (which technically isn't a good thing due to a dwindling lack of funds when you don't have work) so I'm ready for fun and the sun! I have some simple plans for the summer: (in no particular order)
Visit Shoreline (home)
Visit Los Angeles
Learn the Guitar
Lots of Ballet Class
Auditioning and Working on Films and Television
Lots of Beach Time and Surfing
Make Some Money
Those who have seen my ballet skills (or psuedo-ballet skills if you will) will hopefully be able to see a great change over this summer if all goes according to plan. I'll be in class, stretching as much as I can (I want the splits, baby) and I have my point shoes which I've started doing some exercizes with. Man girls have it hard! Those things are tough. When I'm through with this summer using my point shoes, my feet will hopefully be beautiful. My ballet teacher in college used to call my feet boards, as they were pretty ugly (and still aren't great, but I guess not too terrible). That and my shoulders (which I have worked hard to fix through the years), she would call me "no neck." Ahh the wonderful memories (actually there were).
Alright, those that still read to here...congratulations...you've followed my strange trail of thought. So, I put the offer on the table again. Those who need an out-of-this-world cupcake need to be getting in contact with me. Also, I'm ready for some summer fun, so if anyone I know (and like) is living in the city or in nearby travel range, or people I know who are visiting, don't get shy or lazy and get in contact with me and we will have some fun. We'll go see a show, grab a bite, hang and play around Central Park, or (my favorite) we'll go to the beach and either surf, tan, play, swim, etc.
I say the last is my favorite, because growing up in Seattle I was on the water all the time. It was the lake (not ocean), but with our ski boat my summer would be filled with waterskiing and playing around. Sadly though (...tear runs down my cheek) I don't have access to a boat or waterskiing (or snowskiing, hiking, etc. for that matter) and miss it so dearly, which is why getting to the beach is so desirable and important to me.
Summary: Chocolate Bar is good, Magnolia Bakery rocks, I have summer ideas and goals, please don't be scared of me, shy, lazy, etc. and hesitate on calling me (or if you don't have my number, emailing me) so we can hang out this rock'n summer. I'm barrels of fun I promise! Cheers to all, and to all a good day.
